8 Essentials for
Personal Empowerment
Definition of empowerment (Encarta
Dictionary) To give somebody a sense of confidence or
self-esteem.
Through my own struggles and
professional experience, I have developed these
Essentials as a way for us to measure where we are in
terms of our own confidence and personal power. These 8
Essentials can be applied to any circumstance to improve
your level of personal power and therefore your level of
confidence and self-esteem.
Self-Awareness:
True awareness means listening to our inner wisdom and
allowing ourselves to listen to our true emotions.
Getting to know who we are and what we really want and
need. Knowing our beliefs in each particular
circumstance and realizing if the belief is empowering
or disempowering. Emotional Awareness! – Not
Judgment!
Self-Acceptance:
True acceptance comes from seeing where we are right
now. Accepting it and making changes from that place of
acceptance not resistance.
Self-Trust:
Trusting that you have everything you need or access to
everything you need.
*We live in an abundant universe with enough resources
for all.
Responsibility:
Knowing that your are the only one that can make
any real change in your life.
Integrity:
Your actions and choices are consistent with your
character values. These are consistent regardless of
your situation and who you are with.
Vision:
Having a vision that excites you and compels you to
action.
*Excites you and Gets you out of
bed in the morning!
Goals:
Having clearly defined goals with a plan and a
structure. S.M.A.R.T.
Specific * Measurable * Attainable
* Realistic * Time Lined
Self-Acknowledgment:
Giving yourself the love, approval and reassurance you
need. Receiving from others – not from a place of need
but really recognizing and accepting others
acknowledgment.
